Grey's...

So here's my much anticipated post about last night's season finale of Grey's Anatomy, brought to you in bullet form...

-- First of all, let me echo the sentiments of many of my Grey's watching partners and say that Sunday night's episode should have been the season finale and last night's should have been the first episode of next season. Last night was good but kind of anticlimactic after seeing Burke shot the night before.

-- Yes Robert, I was very upset about Meredith and Shep. I mean, I kind of understand because, frankly, who among us has NOT had sex in an empty room at work while our significant others were left mingling with each other upstairs in the prom that our boss made us put on for his cancer stricken niece. But still, I just don't understand. I guess it just all comes down to me still thinking Addison is much hotter than Meredith, and has a much better personality and deserves to be happy. But hey, that's just me. Meredith and her McDreamy will be together, I just hope the writers do it quick. All of us Ed fans know what happens when the "will they/ won't they?" lasts too long-- people stop watching and the show gets boring.

-- Anyone else draw the connection that the season finale of the first full season of Ed also occurred at a prom?

-- I'm not sure what to think about Izzie leaving. I guess I need to find out if she is leaving the show or just the program before I ponder that thought. It would be a huge loss for the show if for no other reason than she is the best eye-candy on the cast.

-- Dr. Webber sure had a rough night, didn't he? In addition to all the hospital disasters going on, he finds out his beloved niece has cancer and that both his wife AND Meredith knows about his affair with Meredith's mom. I'll bet he got an ulcer.

-- Final thought: The best part of this show is the writing and nowhere is it better than in Christina's character development since the beginning of the show. The way they show how human interaction and, get ready for the UBC buzz-word, commmunity, has chipped away at her rough exterior, while still keeping her the competitive Asian-American with deep-seeded mother issues, is just amazing. Both Sandra Oh and the writers should have an armful of Emmys next year.

Did you absolutely love the "V-card" reference? I found it hilarious. So great.

Also, I totally made the "Ed" prom connection. So fabulous.

V-Card was hilraious.

By the way, I just reread this post and wanted to make a clarification. I don't think Ed every got boring, but many did and that's why they stopped watching.

"deep-seated" Sorry to be so picayune, but I'm a hater that way.....

i think "deep-seeded" works also.

can my journalism homies chime in on this one? or maybe it's better suited for psychologists-- Val, you out there?

i'm not thinking izzie is leaving. i don't understand why they would've had that interaction between her & alex if she was leaving the show. for me, that was an open window for them to get back together next season.
and i don't like the way they left things with webber. is he contemplating leaving? could burke be chief with a bum hand?
i'm going to stop now. i shouldn't be thinking this hard about a tv show.

It's "deep-seated". I looked it up. I love looking things up. I heart dictionaries.

Craig, this morning, I tried to talk to JenA about Grey's last night, particularly about the V-Card reference. She stopped me and said that I couldn't talk to her about Grey's because she just didn't care. I cried a little on the inside. She just didn't want to hear it! I wanted to weep openly for her. Maybe you should talk to her about that. Thanks.

Craig, don't bother with trying to convert me. It's bad enough I have to hear about the OC from katy.
I never liked hospital shows and i'm definitely not much of a card-player anymore, so I know you and I will get over it.
We'll always have 'Ed'.
And I concur with Katy, et al. It is deep-seated. See Internet-procured ref below:

"The established phrase is "deep-seated", which is listed in any good dictionary and has 590,000 Google hits, while "deep-seeded" is not listed in any dictionary (at least as far as I've checked), and has only 24,800 Google hits, so that the public vote is 96% for seated, 4% for seeded."

I always knew you were in the minority.

Love n' peace!

Am i the only one who is glad for the little bit of a break from Grey's? don't get me wrong, I LOVE this show and am not at all tired of it, but it's affecting me very strongly and I think my poor little heart and emotions need a tad bit of rest. (I had to call Scott like 4 times during and after the show on Monday night for emotional support and to make sure he was okay.) A few weeks of recuperation and I'll be ready to come back and join in with the people at seattle grace in their wonderful drama with full force.

Not only will viewers get bored of the "will they/won't they" thing, viewers will also start to dislike one or both of the lead characters. I think many people got quite annoyed with Carol Vessey (it's kind of impossible dislike Ed Stevens!) and I find myself currently frustrated with both Derek and Meredith. I know it's the writing, but that's the point--if they're not going to let us be happy to see them together, they make us mad at the characters in attempt to elicit some kind of strong feeling.
